NSW Government Battery Rebate Program Fact Sheet
Program Overview
The NSW government announced that starting November 1, 2024, new battery incentives will be available for homes and businesses with rooftop solar systems. These incentives, under the Peak Demand Reduction Scheme (PDRS), will support the installation of batteries and connection to a Virtual Power Plant (VPP), helping users maximise their solar energy usage and reduce electricity bills. To benefit from these incentives, collaboration with an accredited supplier is required. The initiative aims to enhance grid reliability and stability, decrease reliance on fossil fuels during peak demand, and contribute to a 70% reduction in NSW's emissions by 2035, with a goal of achieving net zero emissions by 2050.
