          Is NSW battery rebate​ available?

          Solar Battery Rebate NSW - Full Info

          The New South Wales government offers battery incentives to residents with existing solar panels. The scheme provides two incentives:

          1. Installation Discount: A reduction of up to $4,500 on the upfront cost of installing a new battery.

          2. Virtual Power Plant (VPP) Incentive: An additional $800 for connecting the new battery to a VPP, with the opportunity to claim this benefit again after three years.

          In addition to the battery incentives, NSW residents can access other solar incentives, such as the federal Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES), which provides subsidies for households installing eligible solar systems.

          Is Victoria solar battery rebate​ available?


          Yes.


          Solar Battery Rebate Victoria - Full Info

          Eligible Victorian owner-occupiers can access Solar Victoria’s solar battery loans program.

          This program offers an interest-free loan of up to $8,800 for the purchase of a new solar battery.

          To qualify, you need to meet the criteria below:

          • You are the owner-occupier of an existing property where the system is to be installed.
          • You have a combined household taxable income of less than $210,000 per year.
          • The value of your home is under $3 million.
          • You have a solar panel system with an inverter capacity equal to or greater than 5kW installed on the property, or will be installed with the solar battery.
          • The property does not have an existing energy storage system.
          • The proposed energy storage solution has a capacity of at least 6kWh and is listed on Solar Victoria’s approved battery product list.
          • Pre-approval to connect a battery to the grid is organised from your Distributed Network Service Provider (DNSP).
          • You agree to receive information from the DNSP about participating in battery trials to maximise the value of having one.

          Is ACT battery rebate​ available?


          Yes.


          ACT Government Solar Battery Rebate - Full Info

          Under the Sustainable Household Scheme, homeowners in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) can access interest-free loans ranging from $2,000 to $15,000 to support energy-efficient investments, including home solar battery storage systems.

          Key Features:

          • Loan Amount: $2,000 to $15,000
          • Interest Rate: 0%
          • Repayment Period: Up to 10 years

          Eligibility Criteria:

          • Applicants must be ACT residents who own a home or hold a current ACT driver's licence (for electric vehicle purchases).
          • Applicants must meet the scheme's eligibility criteria and the lending criteria of the scheme's financial partner, Brighte.
          • Participation in a free one-hour workshop to assist with energy efficiency choices is required.

          This scheme aims to reduce the upfront costs of energy-efficient upgrades, promoting sustainability and reducing household energy bills.

          Is QLD battery rebate​ available?

          Solar Battery Rebate QLD - Full Info

          The Queensland Government's Battery Booster Program, which provided rebates for installing home battery systems, has concluded.

          The program offered two rebates:

          1. Standard Rebate: Households with a combined annual income under $180,000 could receive up to $3,000.

          2. Low-Income Rebate: Households where the highest earner's income was $66,667 or less in the previous financial year were eligible for up to $4,000.

          Is SA government solar battery rebate​ available?


          Yes.


          Solar Battery Rebate SA - Full Info

          Residents of the City of Adelaide can receive a 50% discount, up to $2,000, on solar battery storage through the Sustainability Incentives Scheme.

          Additionally, all South Australian residents may qualify for the Home Battery Scheme, which offers subsidies for home battery systems.

          Is WA solar battery rebate​ available?


          No.


          Solar Battery Rebate WA - Full Info

          Currently, there are no state-specific solar battery rebates or incentives available in Western Australia.

          However, residents can benefit from the federal Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES), which provides Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs) to reduce the upfront costs of installing solar panel systems.

          Additionally, Western Australia offers the Distributed Energy Buyback Scheme (DEBS), which allows eligible households to receive payments for surplus electricity exported back to the grid.

          Solar Battery Rebate NT - Full Info

          Eligible households, businesses, and not-for-profit organisations in the Northern Territory can access the Home and Business Battery Scheme, which offers grants to support the installation of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems with batteries and inverters, or the addition of batteries and inverters to existing solar PV systems.

          Grant Details (Effective 1 December 2024):

          • Amount: $400 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) of usable battery system capacity, up to a maximum of $12,000.
            Northern Territory Government

          Eligibility Criteria:

          • Applicants: Registered owners of residential properties, registered Northern Territory businesses, and not-for-profit or community organisations operating in the NT.

          • Property Status: The property can be owner-occupied or used as an investment; however, only one application per property and per homeowner is permitted.

          • System Requirements: The grant can be used to purchase and install a solar PV system with an eligible battery and inverter, or an eligible battery and inverter only if a solar PV system is already installed. The battery system must be on the approved list assessed as virtual power plant capable.

          • Exclusions: The funding cannot be used to purchase and install solar PV panels and inverters where they are not being installed simultaneously with a battery.

          This scheme aims to reduce energy costs and promote energy independence for Territorians.
