The long-awaited grants for home battery installations in Adelaide have finally seen the light of day.
The South Australian Liberal Government has announced that its Home Battery Scheme is ready to go live.
This includes the installation of battery storage systems for 40,000 households in South Australia, all capable of participating in a virtual power plant to address network issues and balance out peak power demands.
Individual subsidies of up to $6,000 will be available to households for the purchase of these battery systems.
These will be graded at $600 per kWh for energy concession holders and $500 per kWh for everyone else.

However, they will most probably equate to more than half of the purchase costs.
