That’s a Wrap – Filming for Renovate or Rebuild!

With the help of design experts such as Deb and Andy from The Block, families have the opportunity to turn their regular homes into smart homes through either renovating or rebuilding.

Renovate or Rebuild is a 60-minute lifestyle show where two teams compete to convince a family that they have the best solution for creating more space, comfort, and reduced energy bills.

Team Renovate believes the family should renovate their existing home, while Team Rebuild believes the family should knock down and rebuild.

In each episode, viewers are taken on a journey through the design process as the teams work through the challenges of meeting the client’s brief and budget.

The goal is to create an amazing design for a home that is healthy, comfortable, and energy efficient.

The two solutions are judged by an expert panel on style, sustainability, and cost, but ultimately, the final decision comes down to the family.

Will they renovate or rebuild?

To launch this concept, Energy Matters has been working in partnership with Channel 9Life’s Renovate or Rebuild, with the aim of driving sustainable housing across Australia.

This project includes a working relationship with the NSW Government, CSIRO, Sustainability Victoria, the Commonwealth Government, the Green Building Council, HIA, MBA, ASBEC, and a variety of other organisations.

Together, these partners are helping develop a mass media communications strategy that promotes the show, the partners, and the technology included to help homeowners make better choices for their homes and work towards a net-zero outcome.
