Short answer
The ACT Home Energy Support Program offers eligible homeowners rebates of up to $5,000: 50% of the cost of rooftop solar up to $2,500, and 50% of the cost of other upgrades such as a hot water heat pump, up to $2,500. As at November 2026, it’s only for concession card holders who own and live in their home.
To be eligible you need to:
- hold an eligible concession card
- own and live in the home
- attend a free Everyday Climate Choices workshop
- have a property under the program’s unimproved value threshold.
Eligible upgrades besides solar include reverse cycle heating and cooling, hot water heat pumps, evacuated tube solar hot water, electric cooktops and ovens, and ceiling insulation.
