Solar optimisers are devices that let each solar panel work independently, instead of all the panels working together as one string. According to the federal Solar Consumer Guide, optimisers or microinverters may suit systems with panels facing different directions or with some shading.
You’re more likely to benefit from optimisers if:
- part of your roof is shaded at some times of day
- your panels face more than one direction.
SolarEdge’s Australian product warranty covers its power optimisers for 25 years. That warranty covers the optimisers only, not your panels or inverter. Most household systems use a single string inverter, which is typically the cheapest option. We’ll recommend a set-up to suit your roof.
