SEA’s warranties cover faults in the products we supplied and problems with our installation. They don’t cover damage from weather or natural events, grid faults, abuse, normal wear and tear, visual issues that don’t affect performance, or repairs and changes made to the system by someone other than SEA.
The main exclusions are:
- damage from storms, lightning, flood, power surges, accidents or other events outside our reasonable control
- faults caused by failure or fluctuation of the electricity grid
- repairs, tampering or changes made by anyone other than SEA, or by an unqualified technician
- faults in parts we didn’t supply and install
- failure of your existing electrical installation, wiring or meter box
- not following the operating instructions for the system
- malicious damage, vandalism or abuse
- normal fair wear and tear
- visual issues that don’t affect how the system performs
- damage to your property caused by the system failing or breaking
- alterations to your property that are a necessary part of the installation
- indirect or consequential losses, such as time taken off work.
Our tip: SEA’s warranties don’t cover weather damage, so we strongly recommend making sure your solar panels and battery are covered under your home building insurance. See Will my insurance cover my solar system?
Nothing in our warranty terms is intended to exclude rights you have under Australian Consumer Law that can’t lawfully be excluded.
